What I wore Wednesday...

Today is a pretty special day, seeing that this day only happens once every 4 years (being a leap year and the last day of Summer). I wonder what special things might happen on this special day, February 29. A BIG happy birthday to those celebrating a once every 4 years birthday today too.

Seeing as it was such a special day I decided it called for a fun, summery and comfy outfit. Here is what I wore...

Yellow Top - Avocado brand (approx. $4 from the Op shop)

White singlet top - wardrobe piece

Jeans - Just Jeans brand ($7 from Op shop)

Yellow Shoes - (a favourite Op shop find from South Australia on our visit last year)

Handbag - New from Target (on special for $7.50 reduced from $30)

Necklace - Christmas present from my beautiful friend Mardi, from HERE

For those who read my blog regularly, you might remember me mentioning that I am on the lookout for a new handbag. I am still really missing my yellow handbag from Jasper (2 Christmas's ago) but it was just falling apart too much for me to use. 

Well last week when Emily and I popped into Target for a quick shop after school, I was pretty excited to find this brown bag. It caught my eye, was a little different to my yellow bag and was on special too - all things that appealed to me. So for $7.50, I brought it home and am happily using it every day.

Here is a close up of my necklace. I LOVE it so so much and was so excited to open it in my presents from Mardi for Christmas. I will blog about my gifts from Mardi soon, but HERE is the etsy store that she purchased it from. I really really love it, and love that there are three alternatives to give me lots of ways to wear it. It's one of my very favourite necklaces now.

What I wore Wednesday (Mummy/daughter edition)...

This week's 'What I wore Wednesday' is inspired by my girl Emily. You see, not long before Christmas, hubby took my kiddies shopping to buy some presents for me. (how exciting) When they arrived home and hid the presents they had purchased from me, Emily excitedly showed my a top she had bought for herself while shopping. I LOVED it and was so glad that she found a top that she loved so much.

You can see some more photos of Emily in her top HERE. Secretly I was wishing I had a top like this too - I really loved it on my girl and wished I had one too.

Imagine my delight when on Christmas morning I opened one of my presents to reveal a top just like Emily's but in Mummy size. I was SO excited and couldn't wait to wear my new dress/top.

We decide that because we had matching tops we needed to have a little photoshoot. So here are some of our photos and some details on what I wore...

I just LOVE my new outfit and I am sure I will wear it time and time again. The colours and pattern make me happy and it is even more special because my girl chose it for me.

shoes - red sandles given to me for Christmas (sorry you will just have to imagine them)

I love my new dress and loved wearing it for Christmas day too. A HUGE thank you to Emma for spoiling me with this dress.

Thank you & What I wore Wednesday...

I would just like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone for your kind words of support and encouragement for Emily. Each comment brought a tear to my eye and warmed my heart so very much. Emily has read every comment too and has been so very encouraged by your kindness. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so so much for being so supportive and kind. I am so glad I shared just a little of what we have been going through this year. Thank you for helping bring a smile to my girls face too xx

Now onto my outfit share for this week. This is just a simple outfit and something that I felt really comfy in. We are having really cold weather for Summer so we are alternating between warm and cool clothes. It's hard to know what to wear each day, that's for sure...

What I wore Wednesday...

Remember me? I am back to my usual blogging this week thanks to a change in the weather. Last week with all the rain that we had ALL week, I just wasn't able to take any photos to share with you. I am super excited to be back sharing my What I wore Wednesday outfit once again...

This is a brand new outfit, one that I purchased just last week, from a real shop!

I must confess that I am not a big fan of shopping in the big shopping centres, I always feel very out of place. Being almost 40 I feel so so old going into the shops and being served by girls that really couldn't be bothered with old people like me, and I never quite know if I look OK in what I have chosen and feel silly asking their advice. So I put my brave face on when shopping in Temt last week and despite the lack of interest on the part of the very young girl who grunted at me every now and then, I came home with these two gems.

I am not usually one for wearing strapless dresses, so was happy to grab this little denim jacket that I call my 'Nina' jacket to wear over the top. Those who watch the TV show Offspring will probably know what I am referring to. I LOVE Nina's style and was excited to find a Nina jacket just for me. The dress is really comfortable and I am thrilled with my little retail purchase. I did find it interesting to pay full price though for some clothes when I am so used to OP shop prices too.

What I wore Wednesday...

It's that time of week again, where I share an outfit that I have worn recently. Today I decided I would show you my very simple outfit that I put together using the top I bought from the Op shop last week.

I actually started out my day wearing my new top with my grey Owl print skirt as I headed off to teach my lovely Tuesday ladies, then popped on the shorts for the afternoon of busy Mum activities. I was really comfortable and I just loved wearing my new top AND my very special wooden brooch too.

I purchased this gorgeous brooch called 'Mori Girl' from the lovely Kirbee Lawler's etsy store, 'Kirbeeart' earlier this year and have to say that I just ADORE it. It was so beautifully packaged and of exceptional quality too. I had the pleasure of meeting Kirbee in real life at the National Blythe Meet this year and she is one of the most beautiful people, so kind and she is the most AMAZING artitst too. Kirbee's etsy store not only has brooches, she also sells prints of her stunning art as well. If you have 5 minutes to spare, I highly recommend you pop over to her store HERE for a little look see.

What I Wore Wednesday...

I am proud of myself (hehe), I am actually organised nice and early with my What I wore Wednesday post. You see, I decided I would share some more details about the outfit I wore for Emily's baptism. So here is what I wore on Saturday (and yesterday after a quick wash!)

Those of you who have been following along with my Thrifty Thursday posts, may remember my skirt from HERE. I mentioned on this post that I was going to cut it shorter, like an A-line skirt. Well the other day while standing in our local bakery, a lady beside me was dressed in a long skirt, top tucked in with a belt and topped with a grey cardigan. I loved her look, so took in as much as I could into my memory and decided that I would leave my skirt long. I am SO glad I saw her, because I love my skirt long and wish I had others like it. It is surprisingly cool and oh so comfortable too.

So, thank you to the lovely lady in the bakery who not only inspired my post but inadvertently helped me put together the perfect outfit for my girls baptism too. What I wore Wednesday...

I had every intention of sharing a completely different outfit with you today, one that I loved and was really enjouying wearing today. That is until I was eating my lunch and promptly spilt some of my egg and salad roll down the front of my dress. Oh dear!

So a wardrobe change was in order. I quickly went to my closet to see what I could find and this is what I put together - quickly.

So there you have my second outfit for today. Once my other outfit is all washed (lol) I will wear it again another day to share with you.

What I wore Wednesday...

It's Wednesday again, so time to share an outfit from my week. This is what I wore yesterday. We had a really HOT day on Monday so it was really lovely to wear something without sleeves and layers of cardigans on. I was very happy to pull this favourite dress out of my wardrobe and team it with my cowgirl boots and some cute side buns! I really am happiest when I am dressing just for me in my quirky way. So, this is what I wore today...

What I wore Wednesday...

Are you sitting down? I wouldn't want anyone fainting from shock because I am finally back posting on my poor neglected blog. I am so sorry for my absence, I really truly have been thinking of you and missing you. Work has just taken up ALL of my time for the last few weeks and I just wasn't able to blog.

But I am back - yay!!

So let's begin back with a What I wore post. I was super organised (kind of) and had Emily take these photos of me this morning before school, so this is what I am wearing today... (just click on my photo if you want to see it bigger)
