Towards the end of the school holidays, I spent a lovely afternoon shopping with my Mum and kiddies. While out and about we discovered a very good sale was happening at Target. We had such fun rummaging through the racks of sale items, finding pieces for us and for a few special family members too.
Mum and I were very excited to find some beautiful linen jackets on sale, fully lined for $10. We quickly grabbed one each in a lovely cream linen colour. We paid for the rest of our purchases along with our jackets and headed home with happy hearts. As we were leaving we saw a lady in the shopping centre wearing the same jacket but in a lovely lime colour. We had seen the lime for sale but were worried it was too bright. However, seeing it on someone else sealed the deal and I headed back and grabbed myself a lime linen jacket as well. Best decision!
I then got to thinking, what could I wear with this lime jacket and decided on navy or black. You see, for a while I had been longing for a long skirt, in either a stripe or chevron pattern. Having had no success finding one online or in stores, I popped a question on facebook, asking my friends if anyone had seen one for sale. Instantly my lovely friends sent through links to skirts online, and I spent ages searching for just the right one. I was so grateful to each of my friends for their help. Not more than a few hours later, my friend Emma called from a store and sent me this photo and asked which one I liked.
It didn't take me long to decide on the skirt in the middle, it was just what I was looking for AND it came with a pink belt too. I was SO excited and I could see my new outfit coming together perfectly. Emma was kind enough to buy the skirt for me and pop it straight in the post. I may have stalked the mail just a little for the next few days while it journeyed here. I was SO excited.
I must confess that the day I wore my new outfit for the first time I felt so good all day. I am sure it was partly that feeling of wearing something new and partly the fact that I had so much fun putting the outfit together and partly because it reminded me of the generosity of friends too. Anyhoo, after that very long story, here's my new outfit.

I think it's safe to say that this is one of my current favourite outfits. It feels SO good to wear something new (to me). That is one of the things I love about a change in seasons, putting together new outfits either from stores, OP shops or from my wardrobe. I hope you get to wear something that makes you feel good during this change in season too. xx Janelle
