Show & Tell...

One of the highlights of my job is seeing my designs made by you. I get such a thrill when I open an email and attached are some photos to show me. I thought today I would share a few gorgeous photos that have popped into my inbox this week.

First up is Deb Rock. Deb sent me through some gorgeous photos of my 'Serendipity' bag made  by her. I think it looks so beautiful in the colours she has chosen.

It looks gorgeous from the inside too.

And then Deb also made some of my 'iphone pouches' too - some to match Serendipity and another fun one as well.

They all look gorgeous Deb. Thank you so  much for sharing these photos with me.

And then my lovely friend Sheree Forcier sent me some photos she was super excited about - and I was excited too. Sheree was so excited to show me her 'fabric buckets' that she made from my book, 'Pieces of Me'.

This is what Sheree had to share - "I’m very excited to say that I finished my buckets this afternoon! YAY!!  I’ve attached some pics for you (although the light here wasn’t the greatest today).  I guess the colours are pretty similar to yours (sorry)…but I LOVE them!!! Hope you do to. :)  They’re now on my shelves in my scraproom… I haven’t decided what to put in them yet…but they’re so pretty to look at! LOL  Thanks for a great pattern Janelle.  It was so easy to follow and came together so easily!"

And as you can see, Sheree has done a beautiful job. I just LOVE my fabric buckets and they are one of my most favourite projects from my book too. Sheree has created a gorgeous set of boxes for her scrap room.

Thank you Sheree for sharing these photos with me. I absolutely LOVE your fabric boxes. These photos make me want to go make some more for me too!!

Now onto some show & tell. Yesterday I was super excited to receive an email from my lovely friend Lisa Pate. She was sending me some photos of my iphone cover that she made for herself. It is GORGEOUS! I love the fabrics and colours Lisa has chosen, just delicious. I asked Lisa if I could share it here and she happily agreed. Gorgeous work Lisa...

AND I was an extra busy girl yesterday, and pattern tested my 'Frill Seeker' pattern. I really do LOVE this pattern so absolutely loved making it again. I am going to call this my 'winter' version as I think these are warm and cosy colours, and perfect to use in winter time - anytime really!

Look at these...

My beautiful friend Mardi has been super busy again with some more gorgeous stitching. As soon as I saw them, I asked if I could share them with you too, because they are just so gorgeous.

Firstly Mardi has made this beautiful version of 'Audrey' - I just LOVE it so much, the fabrics are so pretty. Modelled beautifully by Alex too x

And then when asked to make a gift for her daughter Briony's friend, Mardi whipped together this gorgeous version of my '@home messenger tote'. I LOVE the rainbow that Mardi has appliqued in place of the house and trees, so suited to a 16 year old too. And Mardi has such a way with choosing an eclectic mix of fabrics that always look gorgeous together too. Just perfect!

Speaking of fabric and stitching, you may have noticed some fabrics up in my new banner. Well I have been playing with them for the last few days and have almost finished my first pattern for 2010. I am SO excited and can't wait to share it with you. Back soon to share - promise x Janelle

Tutti Frutti Button Jewellery Set...

I have had a few requests for details on my gorgeous button necklace that I am wearing in my profile picture and in my swap photo too. Isn't it just gorgeous! I absolutely LOVE it and I am more than happy to share the details with you.

A while ago now, I was blog hopping when I stumbled across a post by Toni Coward, sharing some lovelies that she had found. One of them was this necklace - here on etsy. I quickly popped over to etsy to take a look and fell instantly in love. Even though it was from the UK, the prices and shipping were excellent, so I took the chance and ordered if for myself.

My parcel arrived looking all gorgeous and beautifully packaged.

And inside my necklace and bracelet were in their own little drawstring bags - almost too gorgeous to open.

Inside these little white bags, was my very own button necklace and bracelet, something I had been secretly wanting for a LONG time. I was SO very very thrilled and couldn't wait to wear them.

The seller is called SmallbagBigheart and she has a lovely selection of goodies for sale in her etsy store, including some other gorgeous necklaces and jewellery sets as well. More winners and an exciting share...

Yes, I disappeared for a little while. So sorry - school holidays and a HUGE to-do list kept me away longer than  planned. I have been stitching up a storm but not anything I can show you just yet. Lots of it have to do with this event - if you are coming, I can't WAIT to see you there. It is getting SO very exciting...

Now onto my exciting share. My lovely new friend Ally, has been SUPER busy and finished her quilt top for 'R is for Robots' and it looks sensational! I have been bursting to share it with you. Here are some shots before borders were added.

Ally is sending it off to be quilted soon, so I will share more photos when the quilt is complete. I think this range of fabrics suits the quilt perfectly. Thank you SO much Ally for doing such an amazing job of pattern testing my quilt - I LOVE it.

So much to show you...

I have totally thrilled over the last few weeks to have seen some of my designs made by others. Each time I received one of these emails, I get SO very excited that I just want to show everyone. It is such a thrill to see other peoples versions of my designs. So I couldn't keep these to myself any longer, I just had to come and share them with you too.

The first I have to share with you is my 'Poppies for You' bag made by Rhonda. This is SO exciting because it is the very first finished 'Poppies for You' bag that I have seen finished from the girls at Nowra. Hasn't Rhonda made such a beautiful bag. I love the different colour and size ric racs as well - just GORGEOUS Rhonda.

Then not more than a week later, the lovely Nat Mardon sent me through some photos of her version of 'Poppies for You'. Natalie told me that she had NEVER made a bag before, so this was her very first attempt. Natalie made this for her friend who is due to have twins soon, so I think this should be perfect for her friend.

And WOWEE to Natalie's first attempt, it looks fantastic. Natalie didn't add the applique or make the log cabins, keeping it simple and achievable for a first timer - and I think it looks GREAT. Thanks Nat for sharing this gorgeous bag with us. Can't wait to see what you make next!

And then, this BEAUTIFUL version of 'Holly's Clutch' was sent through to me from Brianna. I just LOVE the bow that Brianna has added to her clutch and the pretty colours of the fabric too. I think you will agree with me that this is one gorgeous bag! Thanks Brianna for sharing this with us.

While we are having some show and tell, I have a little of my own to share too. Just before I released my 'Audrey' pattern, I decided to give it a pattern test of my own, and made a pretty version of 'Audrey' as a gift for my Mum. She is an amazing Mum who is such a wonderful help to me, so I was SO excited to be making this for her.

I used a beautiful green floral from a range called Flower Sugar and finished it off with a small yellow dot to match. I also decided to hand quilt this bag for her, rather than machine, just for something a little different. I couldn't wait till her birthday (later this month) to give it to her, so she already has it and loves it too, which is great!

'Sew' much to show you...

This week I have been busily creating and stitching and have almost finished a brand new pattern. I am SO super excited about this one and hope to have some photos to show you soon.

I do however, how a lot of sewing to share with you. My wonderful pattern tester and gorgeous friend Mardi was busy behind the scenes a few weeks ago, pattern testing my 'Poppies for You' pattern. I love the feeling of knowing that someone is stitching one of my designs, it gives me butterflies in my tummy - good ones.

So when Mardi emailed her finished photos to me, I gasped! I LOVED it so much and wanted one for me too hehe.

Mardi used her wonderful mix of fabrics and simplified the design by not doing the applique so that she could put this bag together a little more quickly. And I must say that I LOVE how it has come together. I LOVE the yellow ric rac and Mardi's mix of fabrics.

Here is the inside of Mardi's bag - just as gorgeous as the outside.

And filled with bubby goodies.

Mardi has given this to her daughter in law Alex to use as a Nappy bag - and she loves it. It even  has the seal of approval from her Granddaughter Bella.

AND I have MORE to share with you. Another of my beautiful friends Mel pattern tested my A4 journal cover from my 'A Penny for your Thoughts' pattern. She made it for her little girl Lilly - and it is gorgeous!!!  Here are some shots to show you...

I love the bright, fresh colours that Mel has used. Aren't they gorgeous!!!! A HUGE thank you to Mel too for pattern testing this for me - I love your journal cover...

Show and Tell...

One of the MOST exciting parts of being a pattern designer, is seeing my designs made by others. It always makes me so excited! Recently I have been shown some beautiful samples of my designs, so I thought it was time I shared them with yout too.

Let's start with this most gorgeous version of my 'Holly's Clutch' from my pattern made by 'Holly's Bouquet'Lisa Pate. What an absolutely BEAUTIFUL version of my bag - I just love it and I love the use of a big silk flower too - what a great idea!! If you take a look at Lisa's blog, you will see a really cute tablerunner that she made as well. SO clever...

Yesterday my good friend Kerry from the Cottage on the Hill sent this photo through to show me. It is my 'Suzie's Sweet Shoppe' made by one of her students, Megan Walsh. Megan was VERY inspired by Mardi's version of my quilt and I must say, how bright and gorgeous does this look? It makes me want to head up to my studio and start making a scrappy one. Now there's an idea!

For a while now, I have been wanting to share these gorgeous photos with you too. Firstly, here is a full shot of Mardi's version of my 'Candy Girl' quilt that she made for her daughter Briony. I just LOVE it so much and was SO very thrilled to see it in real life while I was visiting her back in April/

Before we left for our big South Australian trip, I decided I wanted to make a thank you gift for Mardi. I decided to make her a 'Frilly Dilly Bag' and wanted to make it in Mardi style. I chose fabrics that I loved and tried not to make them too matchy matchy. The lining is my favourite and is a vintage piece of fabric. I must say that this was VERY hard to part with - lucky it was for Mardi or it may have ended up staying with me.

And here is the beautiful Mardi modelling her Frilly Dilly Bag..

 Also while I was at Mardi's house, Mardi showed me her amazing version of my '@home messenger tote'. I just love Mardi' fabric choices and how she substituted the applique for a vintage doiley. I think it looks AMAZING!!
