Leaving off from my last blog post, Jasper had finished opening his presents, had a little ride on his bike and was excited to get ready for school. It just so happened that the Year 5 classes at his school were all dressing up and taking part in a very special day called Gold Rush Day. To say Jasper was excited was an understatement. Not only was it his birthday but he got to dress up (which he loves) and take part in fantastic activities all day.
I had purchased a few items from the Op shop and we were able to put together an outfit for Jasper that he loved. With the addition of his lunch in a swag and an old fashioned hairstyle he was ready and raring to go!
Jasper had the most wonderful birthday at school, doing activities such as egg and spoon races, tug of war, panning for gold, potato sack racing, cooking rock cakes and charcoal sketching just to name a few. I don't think I could have planned a better day if I have tried.
Jasper arrived home with a HUGE smile on his face. His cousin Megan who is also in his class was fortunate enough to win first place in best dressed girl and Jasper got second place in the boys. So exciting for them both. Here is Jasper with his cousin Megan, all dressed up and looking very old fashioned together.
I am so very glad that Jasper was able to enjoy his birthday with such fun activities. By the end of the day we were all pretty tired (from our very early start and Jasper's busy day) so we shared a simple dinner together and ended our day with a yummy chocolate cake, some candles and singing Happy Birthday to our boy.
Happy Birthday Jasper... xx
