Hellooo Everyone!
Guess what GUESS what GUESS WHAT!!??!! It is time for.. THE UTTERLY AWESOME BLYTHE CLUB! Sorry it has been so long since we have done something for it!
If you don't know what the Utterly Awesome Blythe Club is, it is an utterly awesome blythe club run by me and my 2 bestest buddies Zali and Bella! You can find out more about it HERE.
Anyway, for the Utterly Awesome Blythe Club, we are doing Easter D.I.Y's!
What we are going to be doing, is I will do an Easter D.I.Y for crocheting, Zali will do an Easter D.I.Y for Sewing, and Bella will do an Easter D.I.Y for cooking! So, make sure you check out their utterly egg-celent blogs soon to do their amazing D.I.Y's too!
So, now onto my D.I.Y! It is a little crochet basket for your blythe dolls to collect their eggs in!...
In 16 steps, you, yes YOU will be able to make this little blythe easter basket! It is simple and easy for beginners, and you can make it in about half an hour to an hour! Here we go!...
Step 1: Gather your supplies! You will need a 3:50 crochet hook, some little snips/scissors, a needle for threading in the ends, and some 8 ply wool! You can have as many colours as you like! I will just be using one colour for this D.I.Y! Note: Size may differ depending on the wool you use.
Step 2: Cast onto your needle with a slip stitch!
Step 3: Do 3 chain stitches.
Step 4: Slip stitch into the first chain, creating a little loop!
Step 5: Chain 2
Step 6: Find the centre of the loop, and single crochet into the centre whole 12 times.
Step 7: After doing 12 single crochets in step 6, chain 2 and do a row of single crochets. Instead of doing one single crochet stitch into every whole, do 2 single crochets into every whole so that you will be increasing. Chain 2.
Step 8: Do 2 single crochets into every whole, like in step 7. Chain 2.
Step 9: Now we are going to do a stitch I made up called the single decrease. (It might have been invented already, but I made this up in my head when I made it!) You wrap the wool around the hook once, go through the whole, pull the yarn through the first two stitches on the hook, wrap the yarn around again and go into the next whole, and pull the yarn the remaining 4 stitches. Then chain 2.
Step 10: Do a row of single crochet, with just one single crochet stitch into every hole. Then chain two.
Step 11: Repeat step 10 - 1 row of single crochet, chain 2.
Step 12: Single crochet into the first two holes/stitches. Then chain two.
Step 13: Repeat step 12 14 more times, so that you have made 15 mini rows. This will be the handle for your basket!
Step 14: Slip stitch the end of your handle into the opposite side of the bag, about 3-4 times so that it's secure.
Step 15: End off
Step 16: Thread the ends through
And you're done! YAY! You should be so proud of yourself! Even if you don't think that your basket doesn't look 100% the same as mine, each and every one will look a tad different, and each and every one will be unique and special (and utterly AMAZING!!) in their very own way!
Once you have made some little crochet baskets for you wonderful family of blythe dolls (or any other doll/toy) we would just be delighted to see! You can email us at theblytheclub@gmail.com and send us a photo! We would LOVE to see! We will be sharing all of your photos of your wonderful creations after Easter!
