Hi everyone! Today for the 22nd day of 25 Days of Christmas, I am sharing with you a super cute, easy, fun and quick Christmas D.I.Y! It is a crocheted Christmas Tree Decoration! It is perfect for any beginner, or advanced crocheter! And they are great for last minute gifts! They only take about 10-15 minutes to make, but it really depends on how fast you can crochet! So without further ado, lets begin!...
To make the crochet Christmas tree decoration, you will need two balls of 8 ply wool in Christmas colours (mine were running out!!), a 4.50mL crochet hook, little snips/scissors and a big needle to thread the ends in with!
Step 1 - You need to chose the colour wool you want for the inside of the decoration. I chose green. Then you need to cast on.
Step 2 - Then you need to do 4 chain stitches.
Step 3 - After that, you need to slip stitch into the first chain, so that you form a little loop.
Step 4 - Do 2 chain stitches
Step 5 - You need to find the middle of the loop you made, and then double crochet into the middle of it 12 times. Then it should look like the above photo.
Step 6 - Then you need to slip stitch into the 2 chain stitches you made earlier, so that it joins the circle together like this.
Step 7 (optional) - Next you can change the colour of the wool, but that is completely optional
Step 8 - Then you need to do 2 chain stitches
Step 9 - Then you need to increase around the whole circle, so it will look like this.
Step 10 - Slip stitch into the 2 chain stitches you made before, so it completes the round, like the photo above.
Step 11 - Do 10 chain stitches. This will be your loop to hang it on the tree with. If you would like a longer loop, you can chain 15-20 if you prefer.
Step 12 - Slip stitch your last chain into one of the stitches in the increase round.
Step 13 - End off
Step 14 - Thread through all of your loose ends so that they don't undo or unravel!
And.... YOUR FINISHED!
You can make heaps more (or however many you like) and hang them on your tree!
Or you can wrap them up and give them to a friend or relative! Daisy had fun wrapping hers up for someone...
You can also make these as tinsel by making the decoration, but making a longer chain stitch at the end and then starting another circle! And you can make the decoration with no chain stitch loop at the end, and make 2 of them, stitch them together and add stuffing and you've made a blythe circle pillow! The options are endless of what you can make with this simple pattern, so have fun!
I hope you have fun making these Crochet Christmas Decorations! I would LOVE to see! So if you would like, you can email me photo's at emily98@westnet.com.au and I will have a look!
Stay tuned for a blythe photo shoot I did, and behind the scene photos!
